Numerical Features of CESE Schemes

چکیده
Abstract In this chapter, some remarks are made on the numerical characteristics of CESE schemes described in foregoing chapters. Due to special formulation, rigorous analysis will take more efforts than that traditional finite difference schemes. However, it is possible extend widely used modified equation analysis, wavenumber and von Neumann stability

Numerical schemes for kinetic
The diiusive scaling of many nite-velocity kinetic models leads to a small-relaxation time behavior governed by reduced systems which are parabolic in nature. Here we demonstrate that standard numerical methods for hyperbolic conservation laws with stii relaxation fail to capture the right asymptotic behavior. We show how to design numerical schemes for the study of the diiusive limit that poss...

This preprint appeared firstly in Russian in 1997. Some truncated versions of this preprint were published in English and French, here a fully translated version is presented. The translation in English was done by O. V. Feodoritova and V. Deledicque to whom I express my gratitude. متن کاملNumerical schemes for G – Expectations
We consider a discrete time analog of G–expectations and we prove that in the case where the time step goes to zero the corresponding values converge to the original G– expectation. Furthermore we provide error estimates for the convergence rate. This paper is continuation of Dolinsky, Nutz, and Soner (2012). Our main tool is a strong approximation theorem which we derive for general discrete t...
متن کاملOn Some Numerical Dissipation Schemes
Several schemes for introducing an arti cial dissipation into a central di erence approximation to the Euler and Navier Stokes equations are considered. The focus of the paper is on the convective upwind and split pressure (CUSP) scheme, which is designed to support single interior point discrete shock waves. This scheme is analyzed and compared in detail with scalar dissipation and matrix diss...
متن کاملNumerical smoothing of Runge-Kutta schemes
First we give an intuitive explanation of the general idea of Sun (2005) [1]: consistency and numerical smoothing implies convergence and, in addition, enables error estimates. Then, we briefly discuss some of the advantages of numerical smoothing over numerical stability in error analysis. The main aim of this paper is to introduce a smoothing function and use it to investigate the smoothing p...
